I recently purchased the Yaheetech Outdoor Garden Potting Bench Table Bench Metal and I am extremely satisfied with its performance and quality. Made of 100% sturdy fir wood, this potting bench is built to last. The solid structure can hold up to 100 kg/220 lb on the potting tabletop, 80 kg/176 lb on the bottom shelf, and the cabinet provides additional storage space.
The spacious working and storage space is one of the standout features of this potting bench. The large tabletop, measuring 112 x 46 cm/44.1 x 18.1’’, covered with a galvanized metal sheet, offers ample space for placing, working, and crafting. The drawer beneath the tabletop, along with the slatted shelf and roomy cabinet, provides both open storage and enclosed space, catering to various storage needs.
This potting bench is not just limited to gardening purposes. It can also serve as a display stand for plants, photos, and handicrafts. Additionally, it can be used as storage for grills in the porch, patio, or balcony, making it a versatile addition to your outdoor space.
Convenience is key with this bench. It comes with three handy metal hooks on the right side for hanging gardening tools, fire pokes, and bags. These hooks make it easy to keep your essentials within reach while you work.
One of the notable features of this potting bench is the metal-plated top. This helps reduce accidental scratches and prevents water and dirt stains. However, it's important to note that mordant substances like acid should never be placed on the metal sheet.
Now, let's address some frequently asked questions about this product:
1. Is this really easy to assemble? I will be doing it myself...comments say it is easy, but I'm a woman that is not "handy".
Answer: Admittedly, my husband volunteered to assemble it and said it was not a difficult task. The sections are not heavy, and although a few of the screw alignments were not perfect, by keeping the screws slightly loose until all was together before tightening them down greatly helped with assembly. The design is very nice and as the sole user, I find it to be extremely convenient and functional. The barrel-bolt lock is lightweight but has been functional. Assembly may be slightly challenging for a novice but most likely worth the effort.
2. This bench would be outside all year long. How does it weather?
Answer: I've had it outside, but under my covered patio, since I purchased it a year ago. It has weathered great. It does get some rain on it when we have storms. The wood would weather to a gray color if it was out in the open, but I think it would hold up well. I just love it. One of my favorite purchases!
3. Would this product accommodate wheels (6) to allow movement to different potting locations?
Answer: Probably.
4. Is it safe to put an electric grill on it?
Answer: A small electric grill? Sure, I don't see why not. You would need to watch that the shelf above the tabletop doesn't get too hot though.
