Concerning frequently asked questions:
Can you take out some of the shelves for larger plants?
That’s what I did. I removed the second and fourth wire shelves to accommodate larger plants. However, it's important to note that the greenhouse cannot bear the weight of clay pots. I had to transfer some plants to lighter plastic pots, but it was worth it to protect my plants.
Are the shelves adjustable or collapsible if I don't need all 5?
The shelves stack on top of each other, so you can choose not to use all five if you don't need them. Personally, I went for the 5-shelf option for maximum flexibility. If I don't require all the shelves in the future, I will simply store the unused ones in the box and roll up the plastic cover at the bottom.
How much weight will each shelf support?
I would suggest not exceeding 40lbs per shelf if using all the shelves.
Does this greenhouse have any ventilation?
Yes, there is a gap between the plastic cover and the metal stand, allowing air to flow in and out, ensuring proper ventilation for the plants to thrive.
That’s what I did. Took out the second and fourth wire shelf. Worked fine. I will say this, even with all the shelves in place, you can’t weigh this greenhouse down with clay pots. I put heavier pots on the bottom shelf but had to transfer other plants from clay to black plastic pots. A little more work, but worth not losing my plants.
The shelves “stack” on top of each other, so you don’t have to stack all 5 if you don’t want to. I went for the 5-shelf, so I had the most options for each use. If I don’t need all 5 shelves next year, I’ll just keep what shelves I don’t use in the box and roll the plastic cover up at the bottom.
I’d suggest no more than 40lbs per shelf if using all shelves.
There is gap between the plastic cover & the metal stand, so the air can flow in and out. Thanks. Ted
