Now let's address some frequently asked questions:

26” high planters: How/with what did you fill them so that they were not ridiculously heavy? If so, what lightweight filler in the bottom?

One customer shared their solution to keep the planters from being too heavy. They used a plastic board from Home Depot and cut it to fit halfway down the planter. They made holes in the board to allow water drainage. Another tip they shared was to use landscape fabric to cover the board to prevent soil from clogging the holes. They also added two bricks at the bottom before inserting the shelf to prevent it from being top-heavy. There might be easier methods, such as using bubble wrap covered by landscape fabric, so feel free to explore different options.

Do you have the measurements of the base?

The base of this planter measures 9" x 9".

I want to place my plant directly in it. My pot is 10" across and 12" deep. Will it fit inside without sticking out?

The planters are 12" across and 20" deep, so your plant should fit nicely without sticking out, whether you choose to place it indoors or outdoors.

Are there 'inserts' that can be purchased that fit this planter so you don't have to fill up the entire planter with dirt?

No, there are no inserts that come with the planter specifically for this purpose. However, one customer mentioned filling the bottom with packing foam before adding the soil. This could help reduce the amount of soil required. Feel free to explore other creative solutions that suit your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

26” high planters: How/with what did you fill them so that they were not ridiculously heavy? If so, what lightweight filler in bottom?

What I did was get a plastic board 1'' x 12" x 8' at home depot and cut a square out of it and made it fit half way down, making holes in the board so water could drain. You also have to get some landscape fabric and cover it so that your soil doesn't clog the holes. I put two bricks in the bottom before I put my shelf it so it wasn't top heavy. I am sure there is an easier way than I used. You might try bubble wrap covered by the landscape fabric.
