If you are referring to the carrots, is your container 3 feet deep or 8 inches deep? Carrots are difficult to grow even in the ground because they require very carefully tilled deep soil, free of any obstructions (have you ever seen crooked or forked carrots?). They have deep roots and would never make it in an 8" deep container. I am confused as to the type of container that you plan to use.
I think the ground is better they need space and depth
I grew them in Arizona... I don't know why you couldn't
I tried to buy from Seeds of Change and had an issue with the order. After 3 attempts to communicate with them, they will not return my emails or phone calls. I don't think I will buy from them in the future.
