Frequently Asked Questions

Will the plant come with planting instructions and is it a good fit for a spring fed Florida pond?

You might want to check your local invasive plant ordinaces to make sure this plant is appropriate for that environment - it can become a nuisance in warmer climates.

Love this plant! Is this sold as one plant or a cluster? Bare root or potted?

This plant is sold as a single plant (cutting). Cuttings is one of the easiest and most used methods of propagation. Many plants will root from just a section of a plant. Cuttings will develop a better root system when rooted in a soilless potting mix.We have posted a second picture of this plants and it should be ready for viewing.

Is this tropical or will it live through the summer in my pond in Washington state?

Hi Lillian, This plant is meant for tropical temperatures. The hardiness zone is from 8-11 and it appears Washington State is outside of this zone range. Usually, these plants thrive in water with a minimum temperature of 75 degrees. Thank you, The Fan Team

Do these plants need to be planted in media or will they grow just floating in the pond like water hyacinth?

I researched this plant and they can be planted or left floating. I had them floating for awhile and now have them planted. I really see no difference.
