This variety, Powder Puff, is one of the most popular cut flowers, and they come in a mix of colors in shades of pink, white, rose and lavender, and they all have creamy yellow centers. Aster plants are easy to grow from flower seeds and bloom throughout summer. These annual flowers are excellent for tall borders or beds. China Aster plants prefer full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. They are usually resistant to deer. For the earliest blossoms, start indoors 6 - 8 weeks before last frost.
