Description

Outsidepride Asparagus Fern Sprengeri Evergreen Foliage Container, Pot, Window Box Plant Seed - 100 Seeds

Asparagus Densiflorus Sprengeri grows as an evergreen perennial in USDA Zones: 8 - 10. It thrives in full sun to partial shade areas and is drought tolerant once established, in some shade the foliage will remain a deeper green.

Asparagus Fern is slightly woody and has fragrant white to pale pink flowers for roughly two weeks in the summer and red berries that follow and attract birds.

This heirloom trailing fern-like plant can be used as a container plant, house plant, for hanging baskets, or outside in the garden!

Sow these easy to grow seeds at 3 - 4 seeds per plant and keep moist until germination occurs in approximately 21 - 35 days.

Our seeds are always Non-GMO and packaged for the current year.

What are acceptable high and low temperatures?

Asparagus ferns tend to like humidity like most ferns. They like it warm, although I have to say that I had mine outside all summer (I live in the Northeast, New York area) and was surprised they lived through the first cold temperature drop. But overall, they do like it on the warm side and sunshine. If you have a bathroom with good light or even a kitchen with good light, they would be very happy! Like I said, they love humidity. Or you could rest the post on a layer of pebbles with water which would provide the humidity. Hope this helps!

Are they perennials?

NOT BEING EDUCATED IN SUCH, I CANNOT SPEAK WITH ANY AUTHORITY - ONLY OPINIONS.

Can I plant these right in the ground? How long does it take it to grow?

I got a 50% germination rate using humid paper in a zip lock bag, and it takes a long time. First sprouts were in 2 weeks and some took up to 5 weeks. Place in soil at the first sign of sprouting. And baby these with water until they have 3 or more branches. Any seed can be started outdoors, it's just easier to keep ideal conditions for sprouting indoors. In comparison to other plants, these are more difficult to germinate but doable. My plants are strong and healthy.

Does it come with instructions also?

I ordered this a couple of years ago and it did very well. However, I didn't do it this year but I do believe it came with instructions. It is very simple. I hope this helps!
