ABOUT OLMSTED FORGE: Frederick Law Olmsted is regarded as the founder of American landscape architecture and is best known for designing Central Park in New York City. Olmsted produced designs and plans for hundreds of parks throughout the U.S. during the late 1800s. Frederick Law Olmsted had a vision for public space and designed parks that people could enjoy 100 years after he was gone. He planned parks that would withstand the test of time. At OLMSTED FORGE we are inspired by Olmsted's vision for designs that last. We honor him with our commitment to manufacturing gardening tools that last. Gardeners are a part of history and tradition like so many who have worked the soil in this country for centuries. As Olmsted stated, "When immersed in nature, for a brief period, you can put yourself back in time."
Description:
What is the length of the tools? The longest utensil is about 15", they all average around 12/13".
Are these tools actually heavy duty? What has been your experience using them? I gave a set to my daughter who is an avid gardener and she thought they were the best she had seen on the market. Buy them you will be impressed.
Since Olmsted Forge says they’re built to last, is there a warranty? Olmsted Forge tools have a 10 year warranty.
Does the metal go up through the handle to make it stronger? According to the seller, they do. The metal part of the tool does extend through most of the length of the handle in order to provide structural integrity. The cushioned cork rubber outer part of the handle is just there to provide a comfortable, ergonomic grip AROUND the metal core of the tool.
