Nothing in the industry is made with silk anymore, itâs just a term that has become synonymous with âartificialâ This particular item is intended for both indoor and outdoor use, so itâs made of materials that fare better in the outdoor elements (i.e. plastic, in this case). BUT quality is still very high and the fact that itâs plastic doesnât mean it looks any less realistic. These are all very well made and lifelike.
Ours was outside on our deck all summer. Color didn’t fade at all, but rain caused rust where the leaves are attached so many fell off. I got glued them back on and so far, so good. Our fault because description says use outdoors under a covered area
Mine came in one piece, I just had to fluff it out. I’m in NV and we get high winds here. I originally had mine in a 5gal planter with river rock, but it blew over twice. The tree suffered no damage, it’s that well made! I now have it in a 30in tall by 15in wide planter filled with pavers at the bottom and river rock at the top surrounding the tree. It looks fantastic and doesn’t budge now. My only concern is how UV resistant it will be? I’ll let you know after the summer.
I would not say it is top heavy, it stands fine on it's own but I will say that if there is some wind, it will probably topple over. It is a very attractive palm and have gotten a lot of compliments. If I remember correctly, it came in two pieces but it fit together beautifully. Because the pot it comes in is rather small, I chose to put it in a larger pot and fill the larger pot with river rocks. Looks great!
