Description

  • 🐝 ATTRACT AND PROTECT MORE NATIVE BEES: Not a typical beehive, this mason bee house insect home is designed specifically for 140 species, including mason bees and orchard bees The mason bee hotel nester has been designed with bee nesting tubes of varying diameters, from large to small, which attract different species of bees. The approximately 75 tubes in the bee hut are all over 4 inches long, allowing plenty of depth for each pollinator to lay their eggs and for the larvae to mature.
  • 🐝 ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY: These bee hotels are hand crafted from FSC certified wood, and each tube in the mason bees house is cut from long-lasting sustainable bamboo to provide a hanging bee pollinator house that is not only bee friendly, but environmentally friendly as well. This solid wooden hanging bee hotel is more durable than an orchard bee house made from paper or cardboard, and provide a sturdy outdoor beehome for your bees while they nest.
  • 🐝 INCREASE GARDEN YIELD WITH A NATURAL WAY TO IMPROVE POLLINATION: Native bees are effective pollinators and a gardeners best friend . Healthy beneficial mason bees visit 1000 plants a day, pollinating more effectively than honey bees ; if you've ever thought about buying a beekeeping starter kit , attracting mason bees is a simpler way to get started than investing in beehives and honey bees supplies. You'll enjoy more vegetables + flowers while helping the bees with these pollinator houses.
  • 🐝 SAFE NATIVE BEE HABITAT: More than a garden decoration, this wild bee house helps increase the population of beneficial bees. Smooth tubes don't injure wings keeping bees safe, overlapping roof shelters nests from wind + water damage ; carpenter bees also like these bee boxes, so a few well placed bee houses could lure them away from drilling holes in your home. Set your mason bee hive about 4 ft off the ground, on a post, tree, fence, or wall, in a sheltered area near your garden.
  • 🐝 NO RISK: While this bee hotel is designed to last 1-2 seasons, each Cestari mason bee house and supplies product comes with a no questions asked guarantee. If your insect house ever doesn't perform as expected, we'll replace it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you recommend mounting or hanging bee house

The bee house should be mounted in a shelter location - where it won't be buffetted about by wind, and has a bit of cover from direct rain. Keep it about 4 feet or lower, to avoid wasps deciding it should be a wasp house. Susan

Will hornets use it?

Hornets are larger than native bees, and create their nests by chewing through old logs, dead trees, etc, and using the wood pulp to create "cells" for their eggs. While it is possible they might be attracted to the wood and chew through it to create a nest (the same way they can on siding on a house), it is not typical, and you would see the damage to the bee house as they created their nest. I hope this helps.Susan

Is there any upkeep with this? Do i need to do anything with it at the end of the summer or is it self sufficient?

It depends on where you sited the house and your weather. The house should be protected from wet weather - the larvae are dormant and sold be kept in a cold dry place. If the house is sheltered from the wet, you can leave it in place - otherwise you can remove it and put in a sheltered area in a shed, on a porch, or a garage....where it will be kept cold, but stay dry.

I plan on setting this outside next to my garden in hopes of it attracting bees to pollinate my garden, anybody had any luck?

I put it out next to my mango tree I did not have any luck. I think you are better off planting very bright annuals. Whenever I plant flowers the bees come.
