you can do several things: 1, put a piece of tape over each hole, 2 use some weed screen over hole, 3 use 1 1/4 chain link fence upper pole cut down to length and stuck into ground to stabilize stack, 4 cut the bottom out of a soda can to cover hole. I personally put mine on top of 2 concrete blocks with a fence pole stuck into the ground to elevate them so I could rotate the stack for more even sun exposure.... good luck
