    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the actual mix and weed seed content?

0% other crop, 0% weed seed and 1% inert matter (chaff, etc.) So 99% fine fescue blend.

I live in Atlanta, but I am wanting to plant this grass in a extremely shaded area. Do you think it will grow if its shaded?

It's been years since I bought this. Fescue likes shade and cooler temperatures. It should grow in your area but it should be planted in the fall or early Spring to get the roots established. When July, August and September rolls around the roots of the grass need to be deep in the ground to survive the heat and drought. I hope this helps.

What does it mean when it says covering the seed is not necessary? Does that mean I don't need 1/4 inch of soil on top after spreading?

That is correct. Unless you have bird problems or won't be able to water it 1-2 times per day. Then, we do recommend some coverage. The seed will come up faster if not covered.
